Mandatory Monday

Image
There are numerous things that are mandatory to have in a triplet +  house: a supportive husband I could have titled this blog "Man Crush Monday" because I could go on and on about how amazingly helpful this man is.  Having a hands-on husband is the only way to survive having triplets plus other kids. He will take over and so I can go do activities that help keep me sane after being stuck in the house all week seeing only babies and this: This leads me to mandatory #2~ exercise. I don't have as much time as I would like to get out and run/walk, but any chance I get, I take it. Usually Aria sees me getting on my running shoes then runs to get her own shoes to go with me. I would like to say running has helped me lose 1.4 pounds this week, but that has been just good ol' fashioned calorie counting. On my "day off" while Levi was home yesterday, I shopped a consignment sale. I found some great deals with it being "half-off" da

7 Weeks Postpartum

I am now 7 week postpartum. Although the babes are only 7 weeks, I am trying to get them on a routine, besides just the daily grind of eating every 3 hours. After their 8 am feed, when the three of them are at one of their most demanding times of the day, I try to keep them awake for as long as possible so they all sleep well when it's time for Aria's nap. That alone is the only time of day where I know all three will stay awake at the same time. Another big challenge each day is keeping Aria entertained. We started a "Mommy and Me" dance class a couple of weeks ago and she absolutely loves it. It's  a great break from being home and it gives us something to do together. My biggest challenge of all is my weight. I haven't done much of anything yet to start the process of losing 35 pounds except for going on a few walks. I'm trying to ease back into running without over-doing it. Here is my weight-loss action plan: 1. Use th

Graduation Day

The triplets are 6 weeks old and I'm learning every day how to be a better triplet mom. It's not easy, but I try to feel victorious with small accomplishments every day. It can be anything from feeding all 3 babies at once... to learning how to wear a baby, or getting myself out the door to start running again. There were two small victories for August 14, 2015.                                                  Victory #1: Our newborn pictures are complete! If you ever need a fabulous newborn photographer, I highly recommend Janean Gray Photography ! She took her time, had wonderful props and was an artist when it came to posing the babies. My favorite picture only has two of my children in it, but it absolutely melts my heart: brother love How do I chose which to frame, which to print onto a canvas, which to put on birth announcements,                                          and which to just put in photo al

A Triplet Schedule

Image
How is it possible my babies are already one month old??? I remember our fertility doctor telling us it would take a few months to get a routine down. All I pictured was chaos until then. Luckily, it's not like that. The blessing of the NICU was that they got the triplets on a wonderful schedule that makes it manageable for one person alone to handle.  Here is what my day looks like in a nutshell: 3:45 AM: wake and make bottles 4:00-5:30: one at a time, change diapers and feed bottles 5:30-7:30: Aria wakes up (I have tried everything and can't get her to sleep later. She's a morning person like her mom.) Breakfast, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, cuddling on the couch. Lots of coffee.  8:00-9:30: change and feed 10:00: With whatever babies are awake, we will do tummy time and story time. Aria loves this! 10:30: prep lunch 11:00-12:30 juggle feeding Aria lunch and feeding the babies 12:30: nap time. This is usually just for Aria, as at least one of the bab
