Developmental Check Up

Image
Yesterday, the babies had a developmental check-up as part of their NICU follow-up. These therapists did some exercises with the babies to check on their developmental milestone progression.  Aria had a great time because the office had fantastic toys for her to play with. Good news: the triplets are all on target with their actual age (not just their preemie adjusted age) and they won't be needing any physical therapy. These ladies agreed with our pediatrician that Livi needs a helmet. You can probably tell by this picture: Poor Livi was so smashed in the womb being "Baby A" on the bottom and holding up those boys. The therapists suggested to also check Henry's head for a helmet when Livi gets fitted. Apparently, Beckett has a great shaped head for his age. I'm guessing this is because he was on top of Livi and Henry while I was pregnant, giving him more room than the other two. Because of their head shape, we learned a couple of differen...

We Love KC

Image
It feels like it's been forever since I have last written a blog. I sit down to write, then get distracted. The babies are getting big so fast, but it seems like Aria is growing up right in front of my eyes. We are still loving our "Mommy and Me" dance classes that we do together every week. Aria gets to see her friends and we both get to leave the house. Win-win! I'm hanging on to the weather still staying so nice and booing the thought of winter being here before we know it. I will bundle the two of us up for walks for as long as I can. Aria was also doing so well with potty training that we were out of diapers except for night time sleeping, but the past couple of weeks she has regressed. I know this is completely normal, but I started a sticker chart in hopes to motivate her to get back to it. It seems to be working. She gets excited to pick out her sticker and put it on the chart.  In baby news, the boys' 3-6 month clothes...

My Four Excuses

Image
I had an unexpected break from exercise. Why? I have four excuses. 1.  2. 3. 4.  After we watched some football yesterday, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and take all of the kids for a walk. The triple decker is not made for walking long distances, but we still pushed out a mile with it. Even Livi was happy on the walk,                                          for a few minutes. In all seriousness though, the triplet life became too stressful for me to take time to focus on myself for a few weeks. Now that things seem to be a little better, I need to work on my fitness. My friend, Quadruplyblessed , who has triplets not much older than mine, wrote about her new fitness goals and inspired me to get back on the program. And with that, I completed the first day of the Couch to 5K program today. And thi...

Mandatory Monday

Image
There are numerous things that are mandatory to have in a triplet +  house: a supportive husband I could have titled this blog "Man Crush Monday" because I could go on and on about how amazingly helpful this man is.  Having a hands-on husband is the only way to survive having triplets plus other kids. He will take over and so I can go do activities that help keep me sane after being stuck in the house all week seeing only babies and this: This leads me to mandatory #2~ exercise. I don't have as much time as I would like to get out and run/walk, but any chance I get, I take it. Usually Aria sees me getting on my running shoes then runs to get her own shoes to go with me. I would like to say running has helped me lose 1.4 pounds this week, but that has been just good ol' fashioned calorie counting. On my "day off" while Levi was home yesterday, I shopped a consignment sale. I found some great deals with it being "half-off" da...
