Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant

Image
Hi there.                                             Sad news around here this week: Levi's paternal grandfather passed . About three weeks ago had been diagnosed with  multiple myeloma , a cancer of the plasma. This cancer makes holes in your bones and a calcium build up in urine, which causes the kidneys to shut down. Like all cancers, it totally sucks. This picture is not how we will remember Grandpa, but we were fortunate enough to have been able to say goodbye to him before he went home. The funeral was a beautiful service with people telling stories about Grandpa, all of which were about what a prankster he was and how kind, outgoing and and full of life he chose to be. Not only that, but Grandpa's faith grew stronger the older he grew. So much that...

Developmental Check Up

Image
Yesterday, the babies had a developmental check-up as part of their NICU follow-up. These therapists did some exercises with the babies to check on their developmental milestone progression.  Aria had a great time because the office had fantastic toys for her to play with. Good news: the triplets are all on target with their actual age (not just their preemie adjusted age) and they won't be needing any physical therapy. These ladies agreed with our pediatrician that Livi needs a helmet. You can probably tell by this picture: Poor Livi was so smashed in the womb being "Baby A" on the bottom and holding up those boys. The therapists suggested to also check Henry's head for a helmet when Livi gets fitted. Apparently, Beckett has a great shaped head for his age. I'm guessing this is because he was on top of Livi and Henry while I was pregnant, giving him more room than the other two. Because of their head shape, we learned a couple of differen...

5 Things I love About 15 Months

Image
Aria recently turned 15 months. I adore this age. She has a beautiful personality, makes me laugh and is the light of our lives. Here are five other things I enjoy about our little girl lately... 1. Aria is a wonderful mommy to her baby doll.  She feeds her, shares her binky, blanket, drinks and all her toys. A even has the instinct to rock her baby and give her kisses. Watching her play Mommy makes my day. 2. Aria is losing what I call her "Zombie Walk" and gaining a more natural, speedier stride. She's very independent, but still likes to go on walks holding my hand. As sports fans in this household, we are excited to see Aria be such a great ball-player. 3. She'll play catch with you all the live-long day. 4. Bird-watching isn't just for adults. Aria studies birds everywhere we go and calls out, "Chirp chirp!" 5. She is an outgoing people person, especially with kids. She is absolutely delighted when other ...

Thankful Thursday

Image
When's the last time a summer in Missouri has been this mild? I'm thankful I can take my girl on walks in the middle of the day without it being too hot hot hot. The view on our walk of our pond has been taken over by lilies pads, though. What a mess! A and I both perspire a tid bit on our walks, but that doesn't stop Aria from wanting to stay outside after our walk. She usually insists, especially once she sees her car parked in the garage. peek-a-boo! I am thankful for sunny days to play outside. I'm thankful my sister and mom got us out of the house for a bit to do some browsing at Hobby Lobby.  Aria loved the flower isle. After all that fun, I'm always thankful for nap time. Have a great day!
