How did you celebrate the Fourth? We tried a couple different patriotic bows on A, but she wasn't having it. She much prefers hats. The family packed the day with watching a boat show, a pool party, and of course an insane amount of food. Everyone had a fabulous time and was exhausted when the day was over. Does anyone else add things to checklists just so you can cross them off? I did this with KC's Sealife Aquarium and our Summer To-Do list. Sealife was not on my summer to-do list, but we were invited to go on a hot summer day. Aria doesn't like touching "weird" things, so we didn't spend long at the sensory tank. She thoroughly enjoyed the other sites to see. More importantly, it was a great time with great friends. Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

Since I'm not working full time, I should have lots more time to blog, right? Not so much. My posts have been few and far between. That Summer To-Do list is keeping us oh-so busy! I wouldn't describe swimming lessons as a win, sadly. Aria had a great time, but with all the rain and the cool temperatures, the water was frigid and several lessons were canceled due to storms. Even with cool water temperatures, I still took Aria to swim at a friend's for my sister's birthday. The sun felt great, though! The next activity we crossed off our list was to explore the Burr Oaks Nature Center.  My friend and I got our exercise in by walking the trails and the kids got to chase each other around after our picnic.   I would only recommend the Burr Oak Woods trails if you have a jogging stroller. As a teacher, you know it's summer when... ~ you and your children eat lunches outside. ~ all you want to do is play with water toys. ~ you get extra time to spend at your parents' house. ~ you can take your baby on runs whenever you feel like it. ~you can stay in your PJs as long as you want. ~ you look forward to vacations, ~ even if it means leaving your baby and hubby behind, ~ and traveling with your students. ~ you are sad to leave your uber-silly students, ~ but ecstatic to get home to your baby. Because summer means swim lessons, new toys climbing stairs (with mom's help, of course!) and whatever else the princess wants to do! Here is my Labor Day, laboriously long post: This weekend our school district gave us a 4-day weekend to celebrate the holiday. It was amazing to have all that extra time with Aria. More exciting news in our family this weekend is that my little sis moved into her gorgeous,  brand-new house. Levi and Colbin were a big help for them, but Aria and I were not. Eventually, we just went home so were weren't in the way, but this made us both miss Daddy. Baby girl had another first this weekend: her first Huskers game party! Her Grammy gets the channel that has the college football game on, so we made a celebration out of it. #Winning It wouldn't be Labor Day without two things: good food and a pool.  I spent all my extra 49 Weight Watchers Points in one day because I wanted to drink pina coladas and eat this fabulous dessert I made.
