Week Three Weigh-In

Image
Weight Watchers update: This week I lost 1.4 pounds, for a total of 6.2 pounds in three weeks. I would like to lose weight faster, but I know that losing weight slowly is the healthiest way because it helps me build long-term healthy eating habits and keep the weight off. As Weight Watchers says , "Quick fix, fast failure." My favorite thing about Weight Watchers is that it teaches you to make healthier food selections. For example, fruit is 0 Points. That way, you'll want to reach for fresh cut watermelon instead of a low cal fudge bar. (This is what I used to do when I was on Weight Watchers years ago before they began the Points Plus program.) My favorite snack to share with Levi Aria news: I'm noticing this week that, sadly, Aria is losing her hair. As many babies do, she is getting the ring-around receding hair line from how she lies down.  She's still beautiful. Sometimes as a mom of a 2 month old, you wonder if you're doing enough ...

Mother's Day Weekend

It's not that exciting, but I got to vacuum Friday night after Levi got home. It feels good to have clean floors, even though it doesn't last long. Even better, Aria sleeps through just about anything, even the vacuum running right by her. Sometimes I have to stop what I'm doing because she's too cute not to cuddle with. Saturday was Daddy/Daughter day. Is there a more perfect outfit for this day than what Levi dressed her in? Nope! During Daddy/Daughter time, Levi's mom and grandmother took me shopping at the city-wide garage sales. Here's a shocker: we bought a ton of stuff for Aria. Today, Mother's Day, Aria had her baby dedication at church. The day was so special as my first Mother's Day, plus dedicating Aria to the Lord, made it a day I will never forget.  "Yeah, I'm ready for my big appearance on stage." Levi's mom (Grammy) and Levi's Granny Great Aunt Natalie ...

Lots of Play Time Today

Image
The day flew by today! Aria was awake for several hours, so we got to have mommy-daughter time. We did some stretches... all while watching Baby Einstein on Youtube. Aria's favorite direction to turn her head is to the right, so I'm trying to work on getting her head to look the other direction once in a while. We all know Aria is not  a fan of tummy time, but I still try! During play mat time, I talked about the colors of the worm, and I also used Spanish words for the colors. Google Translate helped me out with this. Before Aria fell asleep for her afternoon nap, we discovered that she's growing out of a pair of her newborn-sized pants! Yay for growing! Levi made an amazing dinner, I had an amazing Corona Light, and made amazing brownies. Oh, how I have missed licking the brownie batter! We ended the night with watching Lion King. A great day indeed!
