Aria's First Day of "School"

Image
My first day back to work wasn't a rough as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it sucked  big time leaving her at daycare, but once I got to work I was OK.  The answer to your question is yes, I did cry. Aria woke up at 5:30 AM. After I fed her, Levi got her dressed for me. She was a good girl while I finished getting ready for the day. We even had time to watch a little bit of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Then it was time for the finishing touches on her outfit for her first day of "school". I couldn't stop taking pictures. I felt like I couldn't get enough snapshots to look at throughout the day. At least she didn't fuss much once I put her in her carseat. She was super sleepy by then. Confession: I sneaked out of school at 3:30 instead of 4:00 today. I couldn't take it anymore! In my defense, I did arrive for the day of professional development at 7:30 AM instead of 8. Once we were home, Ari...

Last Summer Day with Ari

Today was the day to soak it all in. My last day of maternity leave. I'm so blessed to have had four blissful months with my girl, and sadly it's coming to a close.  Aunt Natalie That toy sure is funny! I let her watch a lot of cartoons today. Levi proceeds to give the man three dollars, to which the man says, "Man, I don't have fitty cents to give you back." "Well, sell it to me for $2 then," Levi replies. "Seriously?" the man asks. "Hey, part of being an entrepreneur is being prepared with correct change." The story ...

Monday, Monday

Yesterday was not a day for napping, according to Aria. She slept maybe 3 hours during the day, which is nothing compared to her usual schedule. When you can't sleep, what do you do? Watch Baby Einstein and learn about musical instruments.  Of course once the video got the the strings section, she was done. What else can you do when you can't sleep? Sing songs with Mommy. At least she played for long enough for me to do some laundry. I decided to wash most of her 6-9 month clothes. One less thing to do in a month or 2 when I'm juggling work, family, exercise and whatever else comes with motherhood. In the evening, big brother Colbin had football practice. Instead of staying home by ourselves, Aria and I tagged along. Levi packed the canopy and an ice chest and we were set! I've discovered that Aria truly dislikes the brightness of being outside. Slip on some sunglasses and the fussiness goes away!  Notice Aria had an outf...
