Tiff's Turn

Hi there.                                             Sad news around here this week: Levi's paternal grandfather passed . About three weeks ago had been diagnosed with  multiple myeloma , a cancer of the plasma. This cancer makes holes in your bones and a calcium build up in urine, which causes the kidneys to shut down. Like all cancers, it totally sucks. This picture is not how we will remember Grandpa, but we were fortunate enough to have been able to say goodbye to him before he went home. The funeral was a beautiful service with people telling stories about Grandpa, all of which were about what a prankster he was and how kind, outgoing and and full of life he chose to be. Have you enjoyed the snow? I'm glad we finally got to take the kids sledding this weekend, that's for sure! Grammy bought Colbin this sled for Christmas a couple years ago. We reminded Grammy that we are going to need four more sleds! Sledding on a snowy day and baking on a snowy day seem to go hand in hand. Colbin wanted to help me bake cookies. I love baking, but I'm not big on sweets during this pregnancy. I believe it's due to me carrying two boys. :) Now on to those triplets... I'm now 17 weeks pregnant and feeling great!  Our appointment today took all morning. We had a very detailed sonogram that took about an hour and a half. They measured everything you could think of measuring: head, heart, brain, feet, hands, bladder- you name it. It was measured. Baby A (the girl)~ heartbeat: 158 weight: 7 ounces Everything on target! Aria's birthday party was a success! We are so blessed to have such great friends and family who love us so much.  Before I baked the cakes Friday, I let her open a present a day early to keep her occupied while I worked in the kitchen. She loves her Minnie Mouse car from her babysitter. My plan was for me to bake the cakes and my mom to ice and decorate them. Mom had a different plan: to teach me how to decorate cakes. Since the cake turned out in good condition from the oven, (These cake pans can be tricky. Be sure to use shortening generously and extra in all corners for it to not stick!) I decided to try decorating them myself, with her by my side of course.
