Thanksgiving Then and Now

Image
Hi. Remember me?  I used to blog about once a week. Now I sign on here once in a blue moon. Triplet life. That's all I can say. How was Thanksgiving for everyone? I hope you all had amazing food like we did.  We started our day at Bass Pro. Yes, we shopped on Thanksgiving. We had a particular gift for a certain someone and wanted to make sure we got it before being picked over. We also wanted to get to Santa while we had Daddy with us. The rest of our day was typical family fun! This year with the triplets was way more fun than last year because they could run around, play with each other and keep themselves entertained; whereas last year they wanted to be mobile, but weren't and I spent the day trying to hold all three of them to keep them happy.   (When we were kids, my mom would call this "The Scanlan Nap Time". ) After an afternoon of Black Friday shopping with all the kids this afternoon, I had to laugh at how di...

Seven Month Sickness, Be Gone!

Image
At 7 months old, I started thinking, "It's time to start getting out. more. " "The socializing will be good times," I told the kids. "The fresh air will be nice," I said. "We need to start getting out as a family," I said. While this is all true and dandy, doing that only brought a nasty stomach virus upon us. The first day was rough. The second day, everyone was lethargic and whiney. Throw in three teething babies and I was lethargic and whiney too. At first I thought I had food poisoning from the sushi we had last weekend.  I was worried our guests would suffer the same fate.  And maybe even Colbin too, but luckily all is well, and today is a better day. I felt well enough today to work on the mountain of laundry that comes with 4 sick kids- including washing the sheets. Again. Not only that, I also  cleaned the mattresses ,   washed bath toys  and steam-mopped th...

'Twas the Week Before Christmas

Image
'Twas the week before Christmas when all through the house, every creature was stirring even the Christmas mouse. The seven stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that the elf would do another dare. The babies were swaddled all snug in their bed but they would rather be fighting over toys instead. The brothers are bonding the sisters are too, while Momma preps the house for Christmas gathering #1, all Aria really wants is to be at the zoo. Babies love their cereal and Aria loves shopping at Target while wrapping and prepping for Christmas, I'm sure there's something I'll forget. I'm excited for parties and having family near we hope you all have a happy Christmas and merry New Year!

Thankful Thursday

When's the last time a summer in Missouri has been this mild? I'm thankful I can take my girl on walks in the middle of the day without it being too hot hot hot. The view on our walk of our pond has been taken over by lilies pads, though. What a mess! A and I both perspire a tid bit on our walks, but that doesn't stop Aria from wanting to stay outside after our walk. She usually insists, especially once she sees her car parked in the garage. peek-a-boo! I am thankful for sunny days to play outside. I'm thankful my sister and mom got us out of the house for a bit to do some browsing at Hobby Lobby.  Aria loved the flower isle. After all that fun, I'm always thankful for nap time. Have a great day!
