My 20 Things (#Elfforhealth)

Image
The #ElfforHealth challenge for today is to make a list of 20 things you are thankful for. I love my list: 1. Jesus While maybe sometimes I complain about volunteering at the Christmas Pagean t in the orchestra this year because of all the time it takes away from me and my family, ultimately it is the least I could do for the one who died an agonizing death for me. 2. Levi This week has been a very trying time for Levi and me, but especially Levi. Even though he is hurting, he still steps up to be the man of our house and takes care of us. Levi is a true leader and I am proud to call him my husband. 3. My mom Last week my babysitter got a 24 hour stomach bug and couldn't watch Aria. My mom came over for the day to watch Aria. Not only did she babysit, she also cleaned up the house for us and did laundry. It was so nice to come home to that. 4. My job I love my job. Teaching can be very stressful and always involves working more than the typical 40 hour wee...

10%, Baby!

Today was a big day for me. I reached my first weight loss goal! I've lost 10% of my body weight so far. My next step is to lose another 10%. I'm using what Dave Ramsey has taught me about goal setting and paying off debt and applying it to losing my baby weight, what I lovingly call my "thunder thighs". Each goal must: * be specific (10%) *be measurable (again, 10%) *have a time limit (by Sept. 6) *be yours, and (my thunder thighs) * be in writing (you're lookin' at it) The last couple of days I have been so lazy about writing. I don't have an excuse, but I do have an addiction. Don't ever start the game Words with Friends unless you want to have such a strong addiction that you end up like Alec Baldwin not being able to "power down" because you don't want to stop playing. When I'm not playing this game in the evenings, Aria and I are still keeping busy during the day. Yesterday, Aria had her first experience with go...

Pregnancy Confessions

33 weeks pregnant today! Where did week 32 go? The 33rd came so quick! Being 33 weeks pregnant and having a couple of snow days, there are some things that I need to confess. Pregnancy Confession #1 : It's been over a week since I have done any walking on the treadmill, until today. If you're a runner, check out the Rock My Run website. It's full of great music downloads, various mixes and a lot of it is free! Pregnancy Confession #2 : I let Gus tear up one of his dog towels because it's fun to play tug-of-war. Pregnancy Confession #3 : I/we haven't been very gazelle-intense on paying off our debt early because I have been distracted by purchasing things for Aria, but we've been back on track recently. We paid off one of two of my student loans. Thank you, Dave Ramsey , for giving us your Baby Steps plan to follow to achieve this goal after an uber amount of hard work and sacrifice. We're almost done with Baby Step #2 ! Pregnan...
