Summer, Summer, Where For Art Thou...

Image
Our weekend can be summed up in two words: nasty weather. So make a lazy weekend at home out of it? Yes, please. School is already canceled for tomorrow. Will summer ever get here? We might as well enjoy the lazy winter days of March while we can. Levi does this best by making biscuits and gravy Saturday morning. I know. I am spoiled. My favorite thing about being home is cuddle time: reading or watching Baby Einstein. Aria cuddles up close to me, then when something funny on the movie happens, she looks up at me with her big, blue eyes and smiles from ear to ear. Aria has five teeth now, with two more coming in. Poor girl just hurts sometimes and wants to do nothing but be held by Daddy. After her medicine kicks in, she's ready to roll.                                                 Lazy weekends with bad weather also mean renting funn...

Running Addict

Image
Tonight I got to use my spiffy new blinking arm band on my run, and... I ran my fast mile yet! I'm still a slow runner, but that's ok! I am growing more and more addicted to how I feel after I run. I am growing stronger and healthier. That's what matters the most!  Also while running tonight, I was thinking about all the things I have learned about being a runner.  1. There's no such thing as a bad run.  A run is a run, no matter how hard, easy, fast or slow it was.  2. I enjoy running when it's cold. Thirty to forty degrees is preferred.  3. When it is cold, I need my inhaler.  4. Never assume a car will stop at a four-way stop for you to cross before them.  5. Having a house that sits on the top of a huge hill is great for starting out your run, not so great at the end of your run. If you're bored with the running chat and dying for Aria chat, here we go... Aria has re-discovered our dog, Gus. Everything h...

Thankful Thursday

Image
Today I'm joining another blog link-up where fellow bloggers grab this pic and share what we're thankful for on Thursdays. Today I'm thankful for: toys that keep Aria entertained. She is now loving this Baby Einstein toy more because she is mastering the art of "jumping" up and down.  Gus being almost 10 months-post cancer diagnosis and still going strong. I'm thankful for fun, positive co-workers. We all know how to have fun, especially during Spirit Week! family selfies. Isn't it cool what you can do with iPhones? Wow, it's really easy to find things I'm thankful for. This list could go on and on, just from one day! But, I digress. So until next time...

W.A.R. (Weight Watchers/Aria/Running)

Image
W eight Watchers 20 pounds lost so far and my first weight-loss goal has been reached! A ria pre-work cuddles Friday morning Friday night, we celebrated Matt's birthday with sushi. This is how good it was. The birthday boy. Aria usually steals the show, no matter whose birthday it is. Don't you just love a relaxing Saturday when you don't have a million errands to run? And when you get lots of family or baby time? Baby girl got to try out her Baby Einsten jumper for the first time.  She wasn't really sure what to do right away. She likes to pick her feet up off the floor instead of jumping so far. All that playing will wear a girl out! Eventually, we did have to hit the road to Colbin's first game of the season, which they won! The heat was oppressive! Time to get home and play more! Aria rolls and scoots so much now that she doesn't stay on ...
