Hip-Hip Hooray! It's Helmet Day!

Image
You can probably tell by today's blog title that I'm excited the day has come that we get to take helmets home. The sooner Livi and Henry get started, the sooner they will be done wearing them. We were promised that no other appointments would take as long as today's 3 hour appointment. Each baby took turns trying on their helmet made especially for them, then the doctor would go make adjustments as needed.  Neither Henry nor Livi seemed to mind all the helmet activity on their heads. Hopefully this attitude will remain the same, especially once they start sleeping with the helmets on at night. We have a schedule to follow, which will ease these little two into the cranial molds slowly. Livi was really interested in looking over and approving this timeline herself. So, how do these helmets work? Is it really necessary? Won't it bug the heck out of them? How long will they have to wear them? Many people think of the baby's head a...

Aria's First Boo-Boo

Image
Aria got her first boo-boo today. Her babysitter said she rolled over really hard on a toy. Aria was not  happy! Eventually Betty the babysitter had to give her a bottle to get her to calm down. She's a smiley baby now, though, and you can barely see the little bruise on her nose. We had a great Friday evening with trying apples for the first time! I also discovered that Ari thoroughly enjoys the movie Aristocats. She watched it for quite a while in her swing. She's also been learning how to handle the way Daddy watches Chiefs games. During last night's game, she didn't cry at all when Levi hooped and hollered at the winning team. Go Chiefs! 3-0! Have a great weekend!

5 Month Camera Roll

Happy 5 months to my baby girl! Here's the pictures from our photo shoot today. I just thought this look was funny! Like she's saying, "I've got my eye on your Grandma and Grandpa..." She's happy now, but last night she was up for 3 hours. I could feel two teeth poking through: one on the top gums and one on the bottom. It was a long night. The good news tonight is the heat in the weather finally broke. It was such a nice evening, we sat outside for a little while. Look how funny Aria thinks Gus is when he fetches the ball. The video didn't catch her adorable laughing, but it's still pretty cute. In running news, I jogged 2 miles this evening- no stopping! Jogging has been a real struggle because all the extra weight I'm carrying feels more like 500 pounds instead of 27, but tonight was a success. That's 3 jogs this week!  Here's to keeping it...

A Weekend of Firsts

Image
The Gilmores had a weekend of firsts.  Like A's first time for squash! My first jogging stroller! Everything baby was on sale at Target this week. I found myself a Baby Trend jogging stroller. While I can't use it until Aria is about 6 months, I pushed it around the house. It's a nice ride! Aria helped Daddy get this stroller put together by reading him the directions. Wow, that was hard work! Aria's bath time had a slight change. For the first time, she sat in the opposite direction of her tub to keep her stay upright easier.  Aria experienced her first Greek restaurant Saturday for her fairy-godmother's birthday! (Georgia).  Unfortunately, Aria is sick for the first time. Runny nose, congested, up all night. You know the drill. Nothing a humidifier and a little daddy/doggy time won't make better.  And finally, Aria had her first Chiefs party...
