A Birthday Weekend

Image
We celebrated two birthdays this weekend. Friday night was birthday #1- Levi's sister, Mallorree. Sweet 16!                                      Colbin and our nephew, Gunner danced the night away. The family time continued when we got to see Levi's dad, stepmom and Mallorree again the next day at our house for Colbin's birthday. Papa and Nana gave him the thing he's wanted the most for months... Yup. An electric guitar. While Levi took Colbin and some friends to paintball, I took the rest of the family shopping to my favorite store. (RedRacks). I found all kinds of running attire for myself.  Shopping, followed by cake and presents... Even Aria got a present! Her great-granny made her another beautiful quilt.  And the Saturday didn't stop there. We still had our annual haunted hayride to go to.  All that wore baby girl out, for sure. She

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for: 1. a sleeping baby on my chest. It gave me some down time to put my feet up and cuddle all at once. 2. A vehicle that has made it to 200,000 miles so far! Go Honda, go! (Yes, Levi took that picture going 59 miles per hour. He said, "The great thing about iPhones is you just swipe and it's hands free...almost.) 3. Night runs. Tonight wasn't a fast run, but it was peaceful and relaxing. Just what I needed.  4.  A silly baby girl that makes me laugh. What are you thankful for?

I am growing stronger and healthier. That's what matters the most!  Also while running tonight, I was thinking about all the things I have learned about being a runner.  1. There's no such thing as a bad run.  A run is a run, no matter how hard, easy, fast or slow it was.  2. I enjoy running when it's cold. Thirty to forty degrees is preferred.  3. When it is cold, I need my inhaler.  4. Never assume a car will stop at a four-way stop for you to cross before them.  5. Having a house that sits on the top of a huge hill is great for starting out your run, not so great at the end of your run. If you're bored with the running chat and dying for Aria chat, here we go... Aria has re-discovered our dog, Gus. Everything he does is
