A Royal Four Months

I could be downtown KC today for the parade celebrating the Royals winning the World Series.

But I will be watching it from the comfort of my own home instead.

(disclaimer: this is not my baby)
My little Royals babies turned 4 months old yesterday!

Their check up at the pediatrician's office only took 2 hours. Only. The doctor started with testing all three of them for RSV since everyone in our house, including the triplets, have been fighting a cold. Thankfully, they do not have RSV and we are all on the mend.

Livi

weight: 11 pounds, 9 ounces (11 percentile)
height: 23 inches (11 percentile)
clothing size: 0-3 month
eating: 6 ounces of formula with added rice every 4 hours

Livi is gaining weight as growing like she should, but as I stated above, she is still small for her age. This is always to be expected when a baby is born five weeks premature.

Our baby girl is also on target with her development. Plus, she already has a few teeth coming in on the bottom row!

The only concern the pediatrician has- which is a big one- is that Livi probably needs to be fitted for a helmet. I had a feeling this was coming because her head shape is pretty off. I'm not sure about all the details with this yet, but she will probably need to wear it about four months and insurance does not cover the cost of baby helmets because they are considered to be used for cosmetic reasons.

Beckett

weight: 15 pounds, 13 ounces (71st percentile)
height: 24.5 inches (36th percentile)
clothing size: 3-6 months
eating: 7 ounces every 4 hours

Beckett is obviously growing well too. He is babbling, smiling, reaching and grabbing just as he should be at this age. The pediatrician doesn't even think we need to go by adjusted age anymore for their development since they are pretty much caught up with their peers on size.

Beckett's favorite thing to do right now is play with his duck until he falls asleep.

Henry

weight: 16 pounds, 2 ounces (76 percentile or 90 percentile for adjust age of almost 3 months)
height: 24.75 inches (46th percentile)
clothing size: 3-6 months
eating: 7 ounces every four hours

Yes, you read that right. Henry is over 16 pounds. Born the smallest baby, he is now the largest of the trio. He is my little butterball.

Henry loves to play and laugh. He also adores little stuffed animals that he can hold onto. Sometimes Livi will take it from him and hit him in the face with it when they are playing on the floor, but he doesn't seem to mind.

All the babies have great head control, but aren't doing any rolling yet. They should be doing this in the next couple of months.

As for me, Levi and I have been able to continue having a date night about once a month. I was paying for staying up until almost 1 am Sunday night to watch the Royals win the World Series in game 5 yesterday morning, but that's ok because the 3 hours of sleep was worth it to see the history and to get even more couple time with Levi while the kids were sleeping.

This couple time is so important, especially for being parents of multiples because of the impact three babies has on a marriage. We don't get much time together, even when we are both home. I am usually doing something with Aria or doing chores while Levi takes care of the babies and vice-versa on his time home. We make a great team, though.

Just like baseball season, this post is over. :)

Let's go Royals!
