If A Baby Could Talk

Aria: "Mommy, it's boring sitting down, being in my swing, playing on the floor, playing in my crib and reading books. Just walk around with me in your arms all day so I can stare at stuff."

Me: "OK, baby, I will wear my carrier so you can hang with me while I do chores."


Aria: "But I DON'T WANT TO SLEEP! OK...well maybe I do."


Aria: "I need to stretch and grab things."
Me: "OK, go play in the ocean with Gus."


Aria: "And this Shamu whale sure is fascinating."


Me: "Ari, Ari, Aria I love you!"
Aria: "I love when you sing to me!"

I found an incredible video on YouTube today. Dr. Karp has been on tons of different talk shows and news shows proving his method of calming a crying baby. A Random, Middle of the Week Post

I didn't think this Wednesday would be such an eventful day. Once the tornadoes started to hit in our town and other towns around KC, the power went out in our house, so I started blogging from my phone out of boredom. Once the power came back on, we went back downstairs to check on our freezer and turn off the lights and got another unpleasant surprise: our brand new basement has flooded. I could seriously cry. I'm praying the laminate floor will be ok despite all the water. Since I'm so upset about that, I will finish writing and maybe that will help me get to sleep. Before the tornadoes and flooding, I thought today was eventful for small reasons. Aria and I had a visit from a friend this morning who came bearing gifts. Mary Lee brought us a big meal to freeze. Guess what else she brought to go in the freezer until after the babies are home? Chocolate chip cookies! I take Aria to the library every Wednesday for story time. My 20 Things (#Elfforhealth)

The #ElfforHealth challenge for today is to make a list of 20 things you are thankful for. I love my list: 1. Jesus While maybe sometimes I complain about volunteering at the Christmas Pagean t in the orchestra this year because of all the time it takes away from me and my family, ultimately it is the least I could do for the one who died an agonizing death for me. 2. Levi This week has been a very trying time for Levi and me, but especially Levi. Even though he is hurting, he still steps up to be the man of our house and takes care of us. Levi is a true leader and I am proud to call him my husband. 3. My mom Last week my babysitter got a 24 hour stomach bug and couldn't watch Aria. My mom came over for the day to watch Aria. Not only did she babysit, she also cleaned up the house for us and did laundry. It was so nice to come home to that. 4. My job I love my job.
